Draft for review, not legal advice. This text describes how Fuseplot works today. It needs your review and a lawyer’s before it is published. Items marked “To decide” are yours to fill in.

Who we are

Fuseplot is a writing workspace for authors, available at fuseplot.com and app.fuseplot.com. The controller of your personal data is To decide: legal name and address.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address and your password, which is stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider.
  • Your books: everything you write and plan in Fuseplot, such as chapters, characters, outlines, timelines, Story Bible entries, comments, research files and settings.
  • Assistant history: your requests to the assistant, the steps it took, its replies, and the edits it made.
  • Sharing details: the email addresses of people you invite, and the roles and access you give them.
  • Technical data: basic logs needed to run and secure the service, such as request times and error messages.

How we use it

We use your data to provide Fuseplot: to sign you in, store and show your books, run the assistant when you ask, let the people you invite work on your book, and keep the service secure. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use your writing for advertising.

Legal basis: the contract between you and us for providing the service, and our legitimate interest in keeping it secure. To confirm

The assistant and AI providers

When you ask the assistant something, your message and the parts of your book it reads for that request are sent to the AI provider of the model you chose, such as OpenAI or Anthropic, through Fuseplot’s servers. Text is not sent to AI providers when you only write or edit. Fuseplot doesn’t train AI models on your writing. Read more about your manuscript and AI.

Where your data is stored

Your account and your books are stored with our database provider, Supabase, in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). The website and the servers that handle assistant requests are hosted by Vercel; assistant requests are processed in the United States. AI providers may process requests outside the European Union. To confirm: transfer safeguards

Who we share it with

  • The people you invite to a book, limited to the role and parts of the book you choose.
  • Service providers that run Fuseplot for us: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), and the AI providers whose models you use.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and books while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and your books. To decide: deletion timing and backup retention

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. You can export your manuscript yourself at any time. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; in Greece, that is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.

Cookies and browser storage

The fuseplot.com website doesn’t use cookies. The app at app.fuseplot.com keeps your sign-in session in your browser’s storage, which is necessary for you to stay signed in.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you before the change takes effect.
